Events
Our events put connection first. Get to know each other, trust each other and value each other, so that when someone needs backup, they call a friend, not a stranger. Events run in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, with online options for regional members.
Monthly from March 2027
A relaxed evening for sole practitioners in accounting and finance. Our host introduces you to people by discipline and suburb, so you leave knowing at least three colleagues by name. No sales pitches.
Before each BAS deadline
Half an hour at 7:30am, a few days before each BAS due date. A coffee and a word of encouragement with others racing the same deadline.
Quarterly
Small groups of 8 to 10 members who meet every quarter, in person or online. The same faces each time, so real trust builds and you know exactly who you can call.
When you are matched
Before signing the Relief and Backup Code, matched practitioners meet face to face over coffee, with a host if you like. Your backup should be someone you know and trust.
Twice a year, from May 2027
Accounting and finance students meet sole practitioners over pizza. Short talks on what running your own practice is really like, then speed mentoring, where students rotate between members every ten minutes. Students can sign up for mentoring, placements and tax-season work on the night.
Once a year, from 2027
A session at one of our networking evenings on planning your exit, succession agreements with your backup, and how practices are generally valued. General information only, with time to meet members who are thinking of buying or selling.
Mid-June 2027
The public launch of SOLO Together and the announcement of our 20 founding members, held before tax time.
What to expect
A host makes the introductions, so no one stands alone in a corner.
No sponsors pitching from the stage and no one handing you a brochure. Just colleagues talking shop.
Regular events mean you see people again and again. That is how acquaintances become people you trust.
Our calendar
Networking events run most of the year. August to October is kept free so members can focus on clients.
